At RISE Alternative Provision, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to ensuring the safety, well-being, and protection of all the children and young people we work with. Our safeguarding practices are robust and tailored to the specific needs of each child, providing a safe and supportive environment for them to thrive.
RISE Alternative Provision uses My Concern as a comprehensive tool to record and manage all safeguarding and behavioral concerns, ensuring that all relevant information is securely logged and accessible to stakeholders. This platform allows staff to document concerns in a clear, organised, and timely manner, enabling real-time updates on a student's progress or any incidents that may arise. By using My Concern, RISE can share critical information seamlessly across multiple platforms, ensuring that everyone involved in a student's welfare - such as teachers, safeguarding officers, social workers, and other support staff - has immediate access to accurate and up-to-date details.
The system also enhances collaboration between different stakeholders, ensuring that any actions taken in response to concerns are tracked, allowing for a coordinated and consistent approach. Moreover, the secure, cloud-based nature of My Concern ensures that sensitive information is protected, maintaining confidentiality while improving communication and decision-making across all levels of the institution. This integrated approach helps RISE to address safeguarding issues more effectively and deliver targeted interventions to support students’ wellbeing and progress.
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), Dan Smith, oversees all safeguarding matters, ensuring that the highest standards are met in protecting children from harm. Supporting Dan are our Deputy DSLs, Callum Cooper, Jack Gauden, Taylor Edwards, Michaela Gale, Annelies Hyde and Rachel Milton, who assist with the implementation of safeguarding policies, procedures, and practices across the provision. Together, they work closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure that any safeguarding concerns are addressed swiftly and appropriately.
We provide regular safeguarding training to all staff to ensure they are aware of the latest guidelines, signs of potential abuse, and how to report concerns. Our commitment to safeguarding is further reinforced by our clear policies and procedures, which are designed to promote a culture of vigilance and accountability.
At RISE, we take a proactive approach to safeguarding, working to create an environment where children feel safe, respected, and supported. We are dedicated to making sure that every child in our care is listened to and protected, enabling them to engage fully in their learning and development.
