As we wrap up the final week of the Spring 2 term, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the incredible progress RISE pupils have made. Their hard work, resilience, and dedication to learning have shone through, supported by our ongoing focus on academia, physical health and mental well-being.
This week has been filled with achievements across all areas of learning. Academically, pupils have continued to impress us, with some achieving near full marks in their Functional Skills tests, while others have reached exciting new milestones in their learning journeys. We are always dedicated to meeting pupils at their current level and helping them build confidence and fill any gaps in their knowledge. Thankfully, with the sunshine now making an appearance, we’ve also been able to take these learning opportunities outdoors, which a lot of our pupils have been this week. Finally, we couldn't forget to mention that creativity has also been in full swing, with pupils producing stunning artwork and showcasing their baking skills with delicious Easter treats.
At RISE, we recognise that success isn’t just about academics—it’s about fostering confidence, emotional regulation, and a sense of achievement in every pupil. That’s why we continue to emphasise movement, well-being, and a supportive learning environment. With every step forward, our pupils are developing the skills they need to Engage, Succeed, Thrive, and RISE.

"M has built a great relationship with his mentors especially Jack out of all his mentors and tutors from another AP. Jack has helped M build a trusted relationship and understanding manner.
M has had a positive outcome and enjoys taking part which he didn’t previously and anxiety/communicating, which has really come on since working with Jack. Communication with myself is excellent. Jack has a very understanding kind and great approach, who is a trusted adult. My son feels comfortable with and someone who understands and reassures."

The RISE Team provided well prepared, high quality and engaging PACE training to staff who work with children aged 3-11. Staff commented on how useful the real life examples were and how these supported them to apply this training in our school environment. The RISE Team worked with leaders before delivering the training which meant we could adapt it to the needs of our school. I have seen many of the strategies being used in school which has lead to the prevention of escalations. Overall, highly effective training!

"I feel a lot more confident! Now, I can go out into the community and talk to people, like when I order my own drinks - it's something I didn’t feel brave enough to do before. I’ve also learned to understand my feelings better.
I can tell when I’m upset or stressed, and I know how to use strategies to stay calm and in the Green Zone of Regulation, so I can handle things better and feel more in control."
