RISE Activities Week Beginning 30th June

Posted: 30-06-2025

Another hot week, but that hasn’t stopped our RISE pupils from getting stuck into a full timetable of learning, wellbeing, and growth.

With the sunshine sticking around, there have been plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities and sports. Pupils have enjoyed being active, making the most of the fresh air while developing teamwork skills, coordination, and confidence. As always, mentors have played a key role in supporting emotional regulation (particularly important during hot weather when we can all feel a little more dysregulated). Pupils have responded brilliantly, using strategies they’ve learned to stay calm, focused and positive.

Academic progress has remained a strong focus too. Tutors have continued to support pupils across key areas, including work on fractions, ratio, recapping past topics, and building on core maths and English skills. Despite the heat, pupils have shown real resilience and commitment to their learning.

It’s been a week of balancing fun, focus, fresh air and emotional growth and we’re proud of every pupil for continuing to Engage. Succeed. Thrive. RISE

School CPD Feedback

The RISE Team provided well prepared, high quality and engaging PACE training to staff who work with children aged 3-11. Staff commented on how useful the real life examples were and how these supported them to apply this training in our school environment. The RISE Team worked with leaders before delivering the training which meant we could adapt it to the needs of our school. I have seen many of the strategies being used in school which has lead to the prevention of escalations. Overall,  highly effective training!

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to you and the entire team at RISE. Your unwavering commitment to placing young people at the heart of everything you do is consistently evident, and it does not go unnoticed.

I am especially grateful for the close and collaborative working relationship we have developed. Your willingness to respond promptly and supportively whenever I have reached out regarding a young person in need has been invaluable. You have never let me down, and the level of care and support provided to the young people referred to your service has been exceptional.

RISE’s robust and comprehensive approach to safeguarding offers significant reassurance. It is clear that safeguarding is not just a priority, but a fundamental part of your practice. Knowing that a young person is in your care truly eases the weight on my shoulders as an Inclusion Officer, as I am confident that they are safe, supported, and respected at all times.

Thank you once again for your continued dedication and for the vital role you play in supporting some of our most vulnerable young people.

"My son totally looks up to Sam and I have seen such a change in Charlie. He's happier and is coming out with me so much more at weekends now as well which is so nice! It's all thanks to Sam.

Thanks to Sam for all his help with Charlie: he really enjoys spending time with him and it benefits Charlie’s mental health so much."
