After celebrating nearly 100% attendance across all students last week, we’ve had a fantastic start to this week as well.
This marks our first full week back since before the Easter break, and we’ve been incredibly proud of how focused and engaged our pupils have been in their sessions. Learning has extended well beyond the classroom too - with activities taking place in cafés, parks, and libraries, as well as outdoors in the sunshine.
The good weather has also brought about more animal-related activities, which have offered not only a calming presence for many pupils but also rich learning opportunities. (Pictured below are some of the animals the students have encountered this week.)
With the sunny days continuing, we are prioritising sun safety for all pupils. If you’re a parent or carer, please ensure your child brings suncream and a sunhat to school. We will continue to keep children hydrated, provide access to shade, and ensure they stay safe while enjoying the outdoors with us.
We do hope you enjoy the bank holiday weekend. There will be no session on Monday, but we look forward to seeing everybody on Tuesday.

"Thank you to Taylor for everything he has done for C, he has impacted his life in the most positive way during the most challenging time of his life. Taylor has been a lifeline for C and without him, he was at risk of Permanent Exclusion.
He now has transitioned to a specialist school and this would not have been possible without RISE's support. C will remember him forever for the most positive reasons!"

"I feel a lot more confident! Now, I can go out into the community and talk to people, like when I order my own drinks - it's something I didn’t feel brave enough to do before. I’ve also learned to understand my feelings better.
I can tell when I’m upset or stressed, and I know how to use strategies to stay calm and in the Green Zone of Regulation, so I can handle things better and feel more in control."

"The Mentor’s relationship with J and me has helped hugely. Having another adult to help has made me feel less alone in my care for J. Bridget's wealth of knowledge has been vital to us accessing services, benefits and professionals within BCP.
Also, the resources provided have been superb. I am really grateful for the care, support and kindness Bridget has provided us. Without her, we would be in a really bad place."
