This week has brought a heatwave of high temperatures and heavy humidity, but true to form, our RISE pupils have continued to show incredible resilience, focus, and adaptability.
Despite the soaring heat, engagement across sessions has remained strong. Our mentors and tutors have been working creatively to adjust activities, ensuring pupils can continue learning and developing while staying safe and comfortable. From indoor alternatives to lighter, more flexible sessions, everyone has embraced the change of pace with positivity and enthusiasm.
A special well done goes out to the pupils who find the heat especially difficult - concentrating in high temperatures can be a real challenge, and we’ve been so impressed by their determination to keep going, participate, and make progress, even when it’s felt tough.
We’ve also taken extra care this week to keep everyone safe and supported in the sun. Pupils have been encouraged to stay hydrated, make use of shaded areas, apply suncream, and learn about why sun safety is so important. These lessons have been woven into our wider focus on wellbeing and personal responsibility which is another way RISE helps pupils build knowledge and independence for life.
Whether it’s been through adapting to the weather, staying calm when it's uncomfortable, or simply showing up and trying their best, our pupils have once again demonstrated what it means to Engage. Succeed. Thrive. RISE.

I would like to thank you all for the support you have given A. Jack made such an immense difference to him last year and worked with us so well to transition A into Year 4 and to this point. Thank you to Lucinda too and all your staff that have worked with him. I have been so impressed with your professionalism and support.
What a success story!

"Thank you to Taylor for everything he has done for C, he has impacted his life in the most positive way during the most challenging time of his life. Taylor has been a lifeline for C and without him, he was at risk of Permanent Exclusion.
He now has transitioned to a specialist school and this would not have been possible without RISE's support. C will remember him forever for the most positive reasons!"

"The Mentor’s relationship with J and me has helped hugely. Having another adult to help has made me feel less alone in my care for J. Bridget's wealth of knowledge has been vital to us accessing services, benefits and professionals within BCP.
Also, the resources provided have been superb. I am really grateful for the care, support and kindness Bridget has provided us. Without her, we would be in a really bad place."
