It’s been another great week at RISE, full of meaningful moments, positive steps forward, and real growth across all areas of our provision. Pupils have continued to engage brilliantly in both mentoring and tutoring sessions; building trust, making progress with their learning, and developing stronger emotional awareness.
Physical activity has been a big focus this week too, with pupils taking part in a range of exercises that not only support their physical health but also boost wellbeing, focus and confidence. It’s always wonderful to see pupils connecting through movement, whether it’s organised sports or simply being active in a way that makes them feel good.
We’ve also seen lots of problem-solving and creative thinking across our sessions - from collaborative tasks to independent learning that push pupils to think critically, whether independently or as a collaborative effort. Alongside this, emotional literacy continues to be a core part of what we do, helping pupils identify how they feel, understand why, and build strategies to manage those emotions in healthy ways.
A big highlight this week has been the positive integration of new pupils. Our community continues to grow, and it’s been extremely rewarding to see strong relationships forming as new faces are welcomed, supported, and included.
There have also been some brilliant individual achievements to celebrate: pupils have been stepping out of their comfort zones by trying new activities in the community, participating in events like sports day and one of our more anxious pupils have taken the huge step of visiting a school setting. This is a huge milestone for them reflecting both the real courage and progress in their personal journey as well as the incredible work their mentor has been doing with them.
Well done to everyone for another week of effort, resilience, and connection. You continue to Engage. Succeed. Thrive. RISE.

"I feel a lot more confident! Now, I can go out into the community and talk to people, like when I order my own drinks - it's something I didn’t feel brave enough to do before. I’ve also learned to understand my feelings better.
I can tell when I’m upset or stressed, and I know how to use strategies to stay calm and in the Green Zone of Regulation, so I can handle things better and feel more in control."

"O didn't have any support other than myself to help her and was struggling to cope with life, having the opportunity to have Leila in her life has opened her mind to so much. We were extremely struggling to cope so having Leila's support has helped tremendously.
It has given me hope that not every door is shut to her and there are people out there that want to help, and she can get support that she needs. O was extremely negative about anyone being able to support her as no one had in the past so this opportunity has definitely helped her to have more faith in people and to trust the process."

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to you and the entire team at RISE. Your unwavering commitment to placing young people at the heart of everything you do is consistently evident, and it does not go unnoticed.
I am especially grateful for the close and collaborative working relationship we have developed. Your willingness to respond promptly and supportively whenever I have reached out regarding a young person in need has been invaluable. You have never let me down, and the level of care and support provided to the young people referred to your service has been exceptional.
RISE’s robust and comprehensive approach to safeguarding offers significant reassurance. It is clear that safeguarding is not just a priority, but a fundamental part of your practice. Knowing that a young person is in your care truly eases the weight on my shoulders as an Inclusion Officer, as I am confident that they are safe, supported, and respected at all times.
Thank you once again for your continued dedication and for the vital role you play in supporting some of our most vulnerable young people.
