Rise is a Pearson Approved Exam Centre

At RISE, we have always said that we want our pupils to Engage. Succeed. Thrive. RISE. Part of this commitment means constantly looking at how we can give our young people the very best opportunities to progress, both academically and personally. One thing we recognised was how valuable it would be to offer qualifications in a way that feels more accessible, supportive and tailored to our pupils’ needs.
That’s why we are so excited to announce that RISE has recently become a Pearson Approved Exam Centre! This is a huge step forward, as it means we can now offer Functional Skills qualifications in English, Maths and Computer Studies directly through RISE. By being able to do this in house, we are making qualifications more achievable for our pupils, in environments where they feel comfortable, confident and ready to succeed.
For many of our pupils, Functional Skills are a fantastic alternative to GCSEs, focusing on practical, real-life skills that prepare pupils for their future - be it college, apprenticeships or employment. From problem solving in maths, to communication and confidence in English, these qualifications help our young people achieve in ways that are meaningful beyond the classroom. Pupils can also sit exams at any time of the year, when they feel ready, rather than waiting until Year 11. A Level 2 Functional Skills qualification is recognised by colleges, universities and employers and can make all the difference in suppoorting our pupils' futures.
We are incredibly proud to now be able to offer this opportunity, as it reflects our ongoing commitment to breaking down barriers and ensuring our pupils leave us with qualifications, confidence and skills for the next stage of their journey. It’s another exciting way we are helping them to Engage. Succeed. Thrive. RISE.
