BW’s Journey
At RISE Alternative Provision, we celebrate every young person’s progress and the steps they take toward positive change. For BW (he/him), this journey has been about developing trust, building meaningful relationships, and re-engaging with learning. We are very proud of his achievement to going back to school, with his time with us reflecting the heart of RISE's values: Engage, Empower, and Thrive
When BW joined RISE AP, our first priority was helping him feel supported and understood. Establishing trust was key, and through consistent encouragement, BW began to build positive relationships with staff and peers. His mentor, Ryan, played an important role in this process, providing guidance, structure, and a safe space for BW to express himself and explore new ways of approaching challenges.
Over time, BW became increasingly engaged in his sessions, showing curiosity and a willingness to participate. This re-engagement marked a real turning point, as he started to demonstrate focus, effort, and a growing sense of responsibility for his own learning.
As BW’s confidence grew, so did his ability to take on new challenges and interact positively with those around him. He learned to communicate more effectively, listen to advice, and approach his work with a more positive attitude. These changes have been supported by the structure, consistency, and emotional support provided by his mentor and the wider team.
A major highlight of BW’s time at RISE has been his impressive attendance of nearly 95%. This commitment reflects not only his growing engagement but also his motivation to succeed and make the most of the opportunities available to him.
BW’s progress has been remarkable. He has developed the tools and confidence needed to continue his education and is now ready to reintegrate into school with a renewed sense of purpose. The positive relationships he has built, particularly with his mentor, Ryan, have provided a foundation for continued success and stability.
We are extremely proud of BW and the determination he has shown throughout his time at RISE. His journey demonstrates the importance and power that a strong support system can have on our young peoples' journeys.
We are confident that BW will continue to grow and achieve great things as he moves forward. Well done, BW. You’ve shown what’s possible when you engage, empower yourself, and truly begin to thrive.

"The Mentor’s relationship with J and me has helped hugely. Having another adult to help has made me feel less alone in my care for J. Bridget's wealth of knowledge has been vital to us accessing services, benefits and professionals within BCP.
Also, the resources provided have been superb. I am really grateful for the care, support and kindness Bridget has provided us. Without her, we would be in a really bad place."

"The Mentor has a good relationship with R. She communicates and works well with her when she is having a bad day. There is great communication with myself- the reports are detailed and I enjoy reading them. I know RISE has greatly helped my daughter build her confidence and become a happier child."

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to you and the entire team at RISE. Your unwavering commitment to placing young people at the heart of everything you do is consistently evident, and it does not go unnoticed.
I am especially grateful for the close and collaborative working relationship we have developed. Your willingness to respond promptly and supportively whenever I have reached out regarding a young person in need has been invaluable. You have never let me down, and the level of care and support provided to the young people referred to your service has been exceptional.
RISE’s robust and comprehensive approach to safeguarding offers significant reassurance. It is clear that safeguarding is not just a priority, but a fundamental part of your practice. Knowing that a young person is in your care truly eases the weight on my shoulders as an Inclusion Officer, as I am confident that they are safe, supported, and respected at all times.
Thank you once again for your continued dedication and for the vital role you play in supporting some of our most vulnerable young people.
