RISE End of Year Summer Party

Posted: 15-07-2025

To mark the end of a busy and successful term, we were thrilled to host an end-of-term summer party for our RISE pupils. It was a fantasic day despite the multiple rain scares, but everyone enjoyed themselves nevertheless!

It was truly heartwarming to see so many pupils come together, many of whom had never met before. Watching them interact, build new friendships, and enjoy shared experiences was a real reminder of the social and emotional growth our pupils have made this year. From the moment they arrived, there was a clear sense of community, connection, and joy.

The party gave pupils a chance to relax and celebrate everything they’ve achieved - whether through sports, board games, conversation, or simply being around others in a safe and supportive environment. Their kindness, confidence, and communication skills were on full display, showing just how far they’ve come in their personal development.

Events like these are not only a celebration but also an important part of what we do at RISE: giving pupils meaningful opportunities to build social confidence, develop emotional intelligence, and feel part of something bigger.

After such a successful afternoon, we’re excited to plan more events like this in the future, thereby offering even more chances for our amazing pupils to Engage. Succeed. Thrive. RISE.

"I feel a lot more confident! Now, I can go out into the community and talk to people, like when I order my own drinks - it's something I didn’t feel brave enough to do before. I’ve also learned to understand my feelings better.

I can tell when I’m upset or stressed, and I know how to use strategies to stay calm and in the Green Zone of Regulation, so I can handle things better and feel more in control."

"The Mentor’s relationship with J and me has helped hugely. Having another adult to help has made me feel less alone in my care for J. Bridget's wealth of knowledge has been vital to us accessing services, benefits and professionals within BCP.

Also, the resources provided have been superb. I am really grateful for the care, support and kindness Bridget has provided us. Without her, we would be in a really bad place."

"O didn't have any support other than myself to help her and was struggling to cope with life, having the opportunity to have Leila in her life has opened her mind to so much. We were extremely struggling to cope so having Leila's support has helped tremendously.

It has given me hope that not every door is shut to her and there are people out there that want to help, and she can get support that she needs. O was extremely negative about anyone being able to support her as no one had in the past so this opportunity has definitely helped her to have more faith in people and to trust the process."
